Avon Dassett will be commemorating the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II with afternoon tea and croquet on the lawns of Avon Carrow. Unfortunately tickets are sold out but there are many more activities and events going on locally.
This contrasts with the 75th anniversary which was held in the midst of the COVID19 pandemic when the village held a socially distanced sing-along and people sat in their gardens to listen and have a picnic. A commemorative newspaper was created showing what was going on in the village in the 1940s and remembering relatives of Avon Dassett villagers who served.
